La Conner School District Confirms No Fault in Bus Accident and Full Compliance with Safety Standards

La Conner, WA – Following a thorough investigation by the Washington State Patrol (WSP), the initial report indicates that the La Conner School District bus involved in yesterday’s incident was not at fault in the collision. WSP officials met with district administration and stated that our bus driver acted appropriately and responsibly, ensuring the safety of all students and staff on board.

In addition to the investigation, WSP conducted a comprehensive inspection of the bus and confirmed that the vehicle met all safety standards and was in full compliance prior to the accident. We take pride in our commitment to student safety, and this finding reaffirms our dedication to maintaining high standards for our transportation services.

“We are deeply grateful for the quick actions of our bus driver, coaching staff, and first responders, all of whom worked together to protect our students during this unexpected event,” said the Superintendent of La Conner School District. “We are relieved that no injuries occurred and are thankful for the support from neighboring school districts and our community as we ensured a safe return for our students.”

We continue to offer support services for students, staff, and families affected by yesterday’s events, including access to counseling resources. The girls’ soccer team will resume their schedule today, with plans to depart for their rescheduled game in Cle Elum at noon.
