In no order:

Skagit Community Action has ties with many services and a "Find Services" button at the top of their page. 

Parent to Parent is a group consisting of parents of students with special needs. They have a very active Facebook presence.  You can also find a general parent support PowerPoint from the leader of the group here. Heather Milliren, the leader of the group, offers some guidelines for general information for supporting your students at home.   Support idea 1        Support idea 2

Clothing

New Life@The Well

Friendship House
Clothing Giving Room 
Located behind the Women's House and is open to the public on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 10 AM - 3 PM.
Clients are given the opportunity to find several items free of cost and may return as often as needed.
Laundry Services
Laundry facilities available to the community from 1pm-4pm every day as long as there are available volunteers.

Food Access

Your family may be eligible for free or reduced lunch. For more information on school nutrition, to apply, or for questions, see the Food Services page, email Food Services Director Georgia Johnson, or call 360-466-3171.

If your household would benefit from additioal food assistance, please see this list of Skagit County Food Banks. You may also complete a Resource Assistance Request form. These forms are automatically submitted, are kept confidential, and someone will get back to you as soon as possible.

Health Care

Apple Health (Medicaid)
Provides health care for individuals with low income; includes youth, families and prescription drugs. Apple Health for Kids is free or low cost insurance for Washington’s children and teens. Families who qualify can receive either free or low cost medical, dental and vision insurance for their children under age 19.

Skagit County Public Health Department
Child & Family Health Division works collaboratively to support the health of Skagit County children. Programs include services for pregnant people, families with infants, toddlers, or preschoolers, and families of children with special health care needs.

Energy Assistance

Households may qualify for assistance with heating costs. Community Action of Skagit County offers income guidelines and appointment scheduling information. Energy assistance appointments are scheduled on the first Wednesday of each month starting in November 2018. You can call to schedule (360) 428-1011, or apply online directly with LIHEAP . 

Housing Assistance

Skagit County Housing Resource Center is the main point of entry for folks experiencing homelessness or at risk of losing housing. Income and housing eligibility limits apply. For more information, call (360) 416-7585, visit the website, or walk-in Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays between 10:00am - 3:00pm to complete an application for assistance.
