Last Friday, our Alternative Learning Environment (ALE) students took on a misty adventure, hiking the scenic Pass Lake Loop and even crossing the iconic Deception Pass Bridge! Some students got an extra challenge with trail running, and everyone made it to the finish.
This is the first year of our Alternative Learning Community here in La Conner, led by award-winning middle school science teacher Maddie Huscher. With 15 in-school and 2 remote learners, this hands-on program offers students the chance to explore exciting topics and earn credits in US History, Civics, Math, Science, PE, and English.
Through a recent unit on Dams and Damming, students chose project-based pathways to deepen their knowledge, applying learning across subjects. Every Friday, our ALE class whips up a storm in the kitchen, filling the Admin Building with mouthwatering aromas.
We’re so proud of this incredible group for diving in and making the most of their learning journey!
