This week, our School Board of Directors had the pleasure of meeting with 25 middle school students and 25 high school students during our bi-annual student listening session. Over a pizza luncheon, students had the opportunity to share their thoughts, ideas, and experiences on important topics related to their education and school life.
Key topics discussed included: Attendance & Success – "Why do you think showing up to school on time is important for your learning and success?" Students brainstormed creative ways to encourage each other to improve attendance and make it easier to be present and on time.
Classroom Instruction – What’s working well in the classroom? What could be improved? Students shared insightful feedback on how instruction helps them learn effectively and offered suggestions on changes that could enhance their learning experience.
We’re grateful for our students’ honesty, thoughtfulness, and commitment to improving their school experience. These conversations are invaluable in shaping a more supportive and effective learning environment for all.
Thank you to all the students who participated and to our School Board for always prioritizing student voice in decision-making. Together, we’re building a stronger community! 💙
