Paraeducator Olimpia Zuniga, with the help of some of our amazing students, prepared a delicious meal that kicked off the month-long celebration with warmth and community spirit.
Hispanic Heritage Month, celebrated from September 15 to October 15, is an opportunity to honor the rich cultures, histories, and contributions of Hispanic and Latin communities across the United States. It’s a time to recognize the importance of diversity in our society and learn more about the impact that Hispanic people have made in shaping the world we live in today.
Some meaningful ways to celebrate Hispanic Heritage Month include:
· Donating to Hispanic-focused charities
· Enjoying cuisine from Hispanic countries
· Learning about Hispanic cultures and traditions
· Honoring influential Hispanic figures throughout history
Did you know? Hispanic Heritage Month begins on September 15th to mark the anniversary of independence for several Latin American countries: Costa Rica, El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras, and Nicaragua. It also includes other important dates, such as Mexico’s Independence Day on September 16th and Chile’s Independence Day on September 18th.
We invite everyone to join us in celebrating this beautiful and important month by continuing to explore and appreciate Hispanic culture. Thank you to Olimpia Zuniga and our students for making this event a memorable one!
